INSTRUCTIONS & COMMENTARY
Here the trail forks. Left to the grave-site, which you can see clearly from this
point. The right fork carries on to the old orchard place.

The grave-site is a five-minute walk, or you can drive right up to it.
There’s a place to turn the car. The mileage count assumes leaving the car at the fork.
Watch out for poison ivy - there's a lot of it about .....
The drive to the far end of the valley takes you past the remains of the orchards, and
finally to the house built on the Kinkaid claim. It appears to be in good condition, but is
deserted.
The house to the north is now let out by the deer-hunting outfitters. Around the old place
are remnants of Old Jules’ experimental orchards.

Return to Hwy 27: go right at the end of the Mari Sandoz Memorial Drive (181 Trl) on to 365 Trl.
